Priznani teniški sodnik Gianluca Moscarella je poskrbel za velik škandal. Italijan je sodil na turnirju v Firencah, med dvobojem pe je 13-letni pobiralki žogic namenil naslednje besede: "Fantasrična si. Zelo seksi. Si v redu? Ti je vroče? Meni tudi!"
Na dvoboju med Enricom Dalla Vallejem in Pedrom Souso je tudi očitno stiskal pesti za slednjega. Della Valle je zahteval odmor za odhod v toaletne prostore, kar je italijanski sodnik izkoristil za spodbudni govor Sousi. "Moral bi zmagati s 6:1, 6:1. Star sem. Imel si 45 žogic za break. Star sem in moram sedeti na tem soncu. Dragi Pedro, nisi osredotočen!"
Kasneje se je znova posvetil pobiralki žogic: "Vroče ti je? Meni zelo. Fizično ali čustveno?"
Po neprimernih komentarjih je ATP sodnika suspendiral.
